After months of physical exhibitions grinding to a halt, we鈥檙e pleased to see the plethora of we have on our doorstep open again. This summer we鈥檙e even more excited to visit, as one of our Foundation Art Diploma students has been selected to exhibit in the .

For the second year running Mia Cacioppo-Cohen鈥檚 artwork has been chosen by prestigious artists and arts professionals to become part of the Young Artist Summer Show. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, last year鈥檚 show was held completely online. This year Mia鈥檚 work 鈥楢 Practical Manicure’ will be displayed alongside many other young artists both online and on-site at the Royal Academy of Arts running

Speaking about the experience Mia said:

鈥淚鈥檓 very excited to be a part of the Royal Academy Young Artist Summer Show. The artwork I submitted portrays an ironic perspective of domestic life clashing with restrictive beauty products. A drop of soap will go a long way with this particular set of nails, allowing you to look glamorous whilst cleaning the dishes. Giving an ironic stance on the slightly dysfunctional acrylic nail sets you can buy in any beauty store. I choose to use pink and blue sponges sculpted and placed into a manicure box to mimic the mass-produced product.鈥

The artwork chosen by the judges was from Mia鈥檚 developmental stage of the Foundation Art and Diploma course where students are encouraged to explore all different creative avenues and mediums. For the final stage of the course students are able to choose a specialist area in which to create their final major project. Mia chose Fine Art as her specialism, and we can鈥檛 wait to see what is in store for Mia鈥檚 artistic future. To view more Mia鈥檚 artwork check out her or
